Nathan's Birth

We went in Thursday night just before midnight to get induced. Melissa was given the pill to get things started and we slept (tried) on it until morning. She got regular contractions but the medical staff didn't like how slowly she was progressing so the doc came in, broke her water, and gave her pitocin. It seemed like within a matter of minutes she was starting true labor. She handled the pain for a long time until she finally had enough. They gave her the edpidural and it was happy sailing from there. She only had to endure about 30 minutes of pushing before he came out. He was quiet at first, but quickly announced his presence with a nice scream that even the doctor flinched from! The first night was pretty tough with very little sleep but we seem to be slowly figuring things out as time passes. Definitely as challenging as everyone said, but the rewards far exceed what we ever imagined.

Cheers,

Brian, Melissa and Nathan

CONGRATS! We are so happy for the new Davies family. I know it is really early, but I think he may look like his Daddy! Can't wait to watch him grow.
