Things to do in San Diego when it rains...

Nathan and I had planned to go up to Fresno to visit grandparents and great grandparents. However, the weather had a mind of it's own. While we would have easily made it there, coming home today would have been another story. So what do you do in San Diego when it rains. Well we went to the Rueben H. Fleet science center in Balboa Park. There is so much to see and do there. They have a room dedicated to only toddlers with computers, vacuums, shopping carts and conveyer belts, blocks, and tons of other stuff. Nathan enjoyed it and found that there were lots of other kids his age to play with. Yesterday was the calm before the storm, so we headed to a nice park in University Heights. It is a great place for kids, dogs and happens to be a block away from awesome Mexican food. It will surely become a great summer hang out for us. Today it is pouring and there isn't a whole lot to do other than relax. Hope everyone is enjoying Presidents Day whether working or at home.

Snow Day

It has been raining since last week here in San Diego. We have been going a little stir crazy since we are used to sunny weekends with warm weather. So today we decided to drive up to the local mountains and show Nathan snow for the first time. We weren't expecting much, but there was a nice little dusting covering much of the Laguna Mountains. We invited Julie, Jared and Kaitlin since we all had the day off. It was a quick trip as all the kids got cold quickly....it was only in the low 30's up there which our So Cal bones can't handle. Anyway, we stopped at the store on the way out of town and there was not a sled or disc to be found, so we bought the next best thing...a laundry basket! A little bit ghetto, but it worked for us. Anyway, the kids enjoyed themselves and that was the point.
